Treatment Specialties

Postnatal Assessment

As a registered Mummy MOT practitioner, I offer postpartum care to mothers. It’s recommended that women have an initial assessment after their 6-8 week GP check, but we also treat women who gave birth years ago that may still have a tummy gap or related pelvic floor issues. The assessment includes; Full postural screen. Pelvic floor muscle assessment. Abdominal muscle exam to check for any separation. Screening for bladder, bowel or sexual dysfunction.

Back Pain

From workplace and sports injuries to surgery recovery and spinal issues, back pain is an ongoing and debilitating issue for many. Whether acute or chronic, I have decades of experience treating back pain and it's often complex causes. My approach includes manual manipulation and may include cupping, acupuncture, pilates, dry needling, postural education, workplace assessment and physiotherapy in Cobh. Just as no back issues are ever the same, neither are my treatments.

Physio-led Pilates

Pilates is a form of exercise that builds the core muscles and improves flexibilty and body-awareness. Core muscles - when working well - provide strength and stability to the whole body and reduce the likelihood of injury. Though group classes are currently on hold, I offer one-on-one sessions where a customised program is designed for the individual.

Acupuncture, Dry-Needling and Cupping

Acupuncture, dry needling and cupping have long been a mainstay of treatment to complement physiotherapy. The evidence is clear. I have used these methods in my practice for many year. I received a clinical Gynaecology and Obstetrics diploma under Dr Trevor Wing; an acclaimed clinician, researcher and lecturer.
